Early Life

Benn was scheduled to take on Silvije Kebet as part of the undercard for Gennady Golovkin against Kell Brook on the 10th of September 2016. After Silvije Kebet walked out, Benn defeated his late substitute Joe Ducker by technical knockout in the second round to make his record unbeaten to 4-1.

Benn fought his first-ever six-round fight on the 24th of September. He was defeated by Ross Jameson. Benn won a clear-point decision. It was also his first fight at the Manchester Arena, a venue where his father was a fighter many times at world championships.

The British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) put out prize money to defend its title in January 2018. One of the fights that they arranged was to put Benn up against Isaac MacLeod, title eliminator in an English welterweight division. They stipulated that the fight should occur before June 2018.

It was announced on the 29th of January 2018 that Benn will fight next to Amir Khan’s UK return on April 21 at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, the first time Benn would fight in Merseyside. Benn signed a two-year extension with Matchroom on February 5. He defeated Chris Truman via round 4 TKO in the scheduled 6-round bout on the Khan-Lo Greco undercard.

Conor Benn was born to Nigel Benn, his father who was a two-division world champion in boxing, and Caroline Jackson, his mother. Benn portrayed his father Nigel in the fourth instalment of the Rise of the Footsoldier film series in the year 2019.
